Biography
Representative Rasheen Aldridge, a Democrat, represents the riverside district in St. Louis City, including the neighborhoods: Old North, Downtown St. Louis, Carr Square, Benton Park, and Soulard. He was elected in a special election in November 2019. He was elected by the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus to serve as the Caucus Secretary and by his Freshman Representatives to serve as Chairman of the Freshman Democratic Caucus.
Born in raised in North St. Louis, Aldridge is a proud product of the public institutions around him. He graduated from Parkway West High School and from South Technical High School in 2012. Aldridge earned an Associate’s Degree In Heating and Cooling while at South Technical High School.
Aldridge has been involved in politics and community organizing since she was a young man. He was a leader in the local Fight For 15 movement known as Show Me 15. Aldridge was an activist during the Ferguson Uprising, and was later appointed by former Gov. Nixon to serve on the Ferguson Commission. He met with President Obama in 2014 to discuss community & policing relationships. Aldridge ran for 5th Ward Committeeman during the 2016 Primary Election & won in a Special Election after a court ruling for a new election making him the youngest African American Committeeman in St. Louis City history.
Representative Aldridge has a passion for Justice and Community Engagement. He served as the Ward Committeeman for the 5th Ward as well as the State Committeeman for the 5th Senatorial District.
Aldridge was born with a disability at birth, giving him a unique understanding of the world not many have. He has two brothers one who is four year old and one that is four year young on his mother's side and on his father's side Aldridge is the third oldest out of 9 siblings.
