Biography
Rep. Peter Merideth, a Democrat, represents St. Louis City (District 80) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2016.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Merideth worked with the firm Husch Blackwell, and in 2011 started his own law practice, GroundUp STL, in Shaw.
A graduate of St. Margaret of Scotland grade school and St. Louis University High School, Rep. Merideth studied musical theatre at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. While there, Rep. Merideth developed an excitement for politics and policy, and returned to St. Louis to study law at Washington University.
Rep. Merideth is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and is of counsel with the firm Dearing & Hartzog, L.C. He also served on the St. Louis City Board of Equalization in 2014, the board of the 8th Ward Independent Democratic Association since 2013, and as the President of the Shaw Neighborhood Association in 2015. A member of St. Margaret of Scotland, Rep. Merideth sings regularly with their choir and in other churches and groups – including The Wee Heavies - a Celtic acapella quartet with three of his closest friends.
Rep. Merideth was born and raised in the Shaw neighborhood in South St. Louis City and now resides in Tower Grove East with his wife and their two daughters.
