Rep. Justin Alferman, a Republican, represents parts of Franklin, Gasconade and Osage Counties (District 61) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2014.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Alferman worked as an Executive Assistant to the Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Rep. Mike Cierpiot. He has previously worked for former Rep. Ed Robb, former Rep. Brian Yates, and conducted research and grassroots for the Missouri Republican Party.
Rep. Alferman is a member of the Hermann Lion’s Club and the Hermann Rod and Gun Club.
Rep. Alferman and his family attend St. George’s Church in Hermann.
Rep. Alferman is a 2004 graduate of St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington, MO. He earned his associate’s degree in Communication from East Central College in 2006 and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008.
Rep. Alferman was born February 3, 1986 in Washington, MO. He currently resides in Hermann with his wife Amy. They have a daughter, Layla.
Changes the laws regarding lobbyist expenditures
Changes the laws regarding the filling of commissioner offices
Changes the laws regarding the offense of tampering with a judicial officer by expanding the offense to include tampering with law enforcement officers
Allows certain motor vehicle purchasers an allowance against sales tax for any agricultural products produced by such purchaser
Modifies provisions relating to the removal of a tenant from a commercial property
Modifies provisions of law relating to emergency medical services
Changes the law regarding sale of water or wastewater systems in fourth class cities.
Modifies provisions for city and county libraries.
Requires automatic driver's license revocation when a driver strikes a highway worker in a construction or work zone
Establishes provisions relating to sports wagering
Designates the hellbender salamander as the official state endangered species.
